Exalpha was founded over 20 years ago by a group of scientists dedicated to accelerating the pace of discovery in the life science arena by rapidly developing and marketing unique products at the forefront of science.
In order to develop great products, you have to ask the right questions when you start. Where some companies are satisfied with ‘average’, ‘good enough’ or ‘me too’ products, Exalpha only settles for products that answer the pertinent questions. Exalpha continually monitors scientific trends and recent literature, we strive to produce products that answer real needs. Exalpha has a long history of developing uniquely superior products that simply perform well, allowing researchers to focus on the task at hand and not on the quality of a supplier’s products.
We also offer IgY purification kits for you to perform the purification yourself.
Compared to the competition:
The antibody purification kit comes with detailed instructions. Furthermore, should you have problems with your kit, we provide technical support on the antibody purification protocol.

Process Details | ||
Antigen requirement | 0.7 mg per 1 chicken protocol for immunizations. We also require you to fill out our antigen form with antigen details. You can find our form by clicking on this link.
Average yield | 12-15 eggs per chicken
lgY yield | Approximately 60 mg/yolk
Notes | Yolk lgY isolation is available for nominal cost, and can be shipped in PBS containing 0.1% NaN3 |
We can also ship intact eggs
We recommend immunization with, between 0.5 and 2 milligrams of purified or recombinant protein per hen and prefer a concentration of at least 2 mg/ml. If possible, please supply us with 4 vials of immunogen (for 4 immunizations), the first vial (for the primary immunization) with twice as much antigen as the others.
For those customers requiring large scale production of IgY, we can meet your specific requirements. All laboratory work is performed using standard operating procedures to assure the highest quality of your custom product depending on your immunogen, how much IgY is required and over what time-frame, we will design a custom project that will suit your needs.
For bulk quantities of IgY, we usually recommend multiple hen immunizations and the pooling of their eggs for IgY purification.
