Description: IKKB also known as inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit beta is a protein which is encoded by the IKBKB (inhibitor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells, kinase beta) gene. IKKB causes dissociation of the inhibitor and activation of NF-kappa-B which is activated by multiple stimuli such as inflammatory cytokines, bacterial or viral products, DNA damages or other cellular stresses. Higher expression of this protein is found in liver, kidney and spleen.
