Description: The Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigen Acr2 (alpha-crystallin-related protein 2), also known as HrpA or Hsp20, is a small heat shock protein, which forms oligomeric assemblies. Expression of Acr2 is induced by heat shock, oxidative stress, and uptake by macrophages. It evokes a vigorous early immune response.
